Résumé Le rockabilly est dérivé du bluegrass, du country boogie et du rock'n roll afro-américain auquel il a beaucoup emprunté. Son essor coïncide avec le début de la popularité du rock dans le grand public. Habité, intense et incomparable, ce style à part est défini par une esthétique d'une grande pureté : simple et efficace. Emblématique de l'Amérique des années 1950, sa légende et la qualité exceptionnelle de ses enregistrements fondateurs et influents lui ont valu depuis plusieurs résurrections. Bruno Blum commente et réunit ici la crème du rockabilly originel, un florilège chronologique essentiel. Patrick FREMEAUX.
